View progress of HTTP uploads and form submissions

The HTTP protocol does not include any progress displayed to you while you send a file or large form to a webserver.  Normally, web masters work around this issue by using a Flash object.  But not everybody has Flash (okay, most people do, but there is no guarantee).  So, if you want to get a quick progress indication of any HTTP upload, use Google Chrome.  When I uploaded a file the other day, this is what the status “bar” told me:

Upload progress in Google Chrome

I think that other browsers should add this feature as well.
It is small things, which do not require much effort, that can make the user experience better.
