The short message platform Twitter is now available in 6 languages, among them German. All texts have been translated by volunteers. German is the last new language that Twitter is adding this year.
Twitter employee Jenna Dawn declared: “The faster we make Twitter available for people all around the world, the faster the world’s different cultures can influence the global discussion on Twitter.” Twitter internationalization lead Alex McCauley told translators: “Congratulations on being a part of making this happen. We very much appreciate your help and thank you dearly.”
To set the Twitter language to German, open http://twitter.com/account/settings and set the drop-down menu “Language” to “German”. If you are not logged in, you find this drop-down menu on the Twitter home page, right bottom corner.
Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that enables its users to send and read messages known as tweets.
