On September 30, 2010, Microsoft is discontinuing the web syndication service Windows Live Alerts.
“Alerts delivers the latest information that’s important to you,” claims Microsoft. But can Windows Live Alerts still compete with RSS feeds, social network status updates, tweets and all other real-time news?

Service Pack 2 Release Candidate is now available for Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008. There is a 32-bit standalone installer (388 MB), as well as a 64-bit installer (614 MB).
