How to: Move the SkyDrive folder in Windows 8.1

The cloud disk SkyDrive is tightly integrated into Windows 8.1. The cloud data are stored in the SkyDrive folder within your user profile. You’d rather want to save the data on a different disk, for example on a second hard disk? No problem: You can move the SkyDrive folder—if you know how.
However, there is no obvious way for moving the SkyDrive folder, neither in the PC settings nor in the Control Panel. Instead, you need to use the Windows Desktop. Follow these steps:

• First, open an Explorer window, and switch to the This PC view on the left.

• Right-click SkyDrive on the left side now, and call its Properties.

• Next, switch to the Path tab, and click the Move… button there.

• Finally, select the new storage location, and confirm that the data may be moved.
