Windows Live 2010 Roadmap surfaces

Many of you are looking forward to the progress that the Windows Live team is making with its next Essentials version. Codenamed “Wave 4,” Windows Live 2010 will take 5 months from today until it is released as RTM. Francisco Martín García, connected to Microsoft Iberia, has published details about Microsoft’s internal planning.

  • Current internal version: 15.3.2659.319.

  • 25 April 2010: VIP testers get access to the latest dogfood builds.

  • 18 May 2010: Windows Live 2010 reaches Milestone 3.

  • 3 June 2010: Microsoft talks about Wave 4 in public and announces its features.

  • 7 June 2010:

  • Public beta of Windows Live 2010.

  • Public beta of the Windows Live Messenger iPhone App in main languages. In the past, main languages included English, Japanese, Spanish, German and French.

  • 25 August 2010:

  • Windows Live 2010 is fully launched as RTM.

  • iPhone App gets additional languages.
