Xbox Live: Microsoft suspends more than 500,000 users

Not being able to use the Xbox 360 online features is probably a nightmare for many people. A nightmare that came true for more than 500,000 users.

The explanation for the user suspension is very simple:  People modifying the Xbox for being able to play pirated games get suspended. That results in that you cannot sign in at the online service “Xbox Live” anymore. In the meantime, account fees are still being paid for gold members.

Once that you are locked out, it can get difficult to prove your innocence.  Microsoft relies on the built-in digital rights management that can determine whether a console has been “modified.”

However, Microsoft does not publish details on what you actually may modify at the Xbox.

What do you think about this?
