Read receipts in Windows Live Mail: dangerous?!

27 August 2009 by J.M.

Windows Live Mail“This message contains an attachment whose file type is considered dangerous. The file has been deactivated.”

This is what I read in the Windows Live Mail preview pane, each (!) time when I receive a read receipt from a recipient who is using Microsoft Outlook. What attachment is blocked? Files like “ATT000XX.txt”!

Why are text-only files (*.txt) blocked?!

This message contains an attachment whose file type is considered dangerous. The file has been deactivated.
