Microsoft is touching the Surface

In an all-secret press event at the Milk Studios in L.A. today (18 June 2012), Microsoft has revealed a new tablet computer. Specifically designed for Windows 8, this tablet runs on either the ARM or the Intel platform. Here’s a first glance at the new hardware:

Microsoft Surface tablet

The Microsoft Surface tablet will have either 32 or 64 GB storage, while the professional variant (running on the Intel platform) has 64 or 128 GB.

A special multitouch keyboard is integrated into the tablet cover, available in different bright colors. More specs are like this:

  • 10.6 inch-display
  • weight: 676 gram
  • a special Magnesium cover, named “VaporMag”
