When you linked your Facebook profile to your Windows Live profile, Messenger 2011 might sign in automatically to Facebook Chat as soon as you sign in to Windows Live. At times, this is not as interesting as it might sound.
For example, you might choose to sign in to Messenger appearing offline. It would be a bad idea to let Facebook reveal that you are online nevertheless. This is how you can sign out of Facebook Chat from Messenger 2011:
- Open your Messenger main window.
- Click your display name. A menu appears.
- Uncheck the Facebook Chat menu item—Done!
